If you’ve joined the meeting before the host, you might be shown a holding screen until they join and start the meeting. Assuming you’re joining a UK call with a UK phone number, you will be charged your normal call rate with no extra fees. Calling into a meeting is simple: just dial the number you were given and enter the Meeting ID when prompted. If you can join by dialling in, the organiser will have sent you the Meeting ID and number to call when they invited you. Dialling in with mobile should be saved as a last resort, especially as some meetings may not support it. This makes it a better experience for everyone and will allow you to view any resources being shared in the call, such as a presentation. It’s always best to try and join a meeting online using the Zoom app on your computer or smartphone/tablet if possible. You can’t join in browser on tablets or smartphones.

If you haven’t downloaded the app you'll be automatically taken to a webpage asking you to download it. You can just send them an invite, they'll click the link, and if they don't have the Zoom app installed, they'll be walked through the process of installing it and they'll be able to jump right into the meeting. When asked what you’d like to open the link with select "Zoom". It eliminates the hurdles when you need to meet with people who don't have an account and you don't want to make them have to set one up. So it's really pretty great that you don't need an account to join a Zoom meeting.

All right, so now we've joined this meeting as a guest, and again, it didn't require me to have a Zoom account to do so, and that's pretty much all I wanted to show in this case. So now Nick should be able to hear me and I'll click start video, so now Nick should be able to see me. Now because I chose not to join with my audio or video right away, I need to turn on those options. All right, so now Nick has joined, but I'm still in the waiting room and now we're connecting. Now because that this is Nick's meeting and he's hosting, he has to first check into the meeting and then let me in from the waiting room. I can see it right here in the invite, so I'll type that in, and I'll click join. Select if you would like to connect audio and/or video. If youre not signed in, enter a display name. If youre signed in, change your name if you dont want your default name to appear. Enter the meeting ID and your display name. I'll do that just so you can see how this looks. If you want to join a meeting by signing in: Sign in to the Zoom desktop client. If you don't want your audio or video to be enabled as soon as you enter the meeting, maybe you don't want people to hear or see you right away, you can check these two options. We also have the options at the bottom to remember that name in the future so you don't have to type it in each time. This is how your name will appear to others in the meeting. If necessary, you can enter or change your name here. So from here in the app, I'll click join a meeting. Again, as long as you have the meeting ID. Now you can also join a meeting as a guest directly from the desktop app. I'm just going to cancel this for right now. So that's how you can enter a meeting without an account from the Zoom website. So I would need to come back to the invite again and copy and paste in the passcode.

Now, in this case, this meeting is passcode protected. That'll prompt you to open up the Zoom desktop app. Now, I still have this meeting invite from Nick I received earlier, and I can copy the meeting ID from here. And this is where they'll enter the meeting ID you've shared with them. Just direct them to go to and here, click join a meeting. Whatever the case, anyone can join a Zoom meeting as long as they have the meeting ID number. Or maybe you do have a Zoom account and you need to invite someone outside your organization to join a meeting. Maybe you're collaborating with people at an organization that uses Zoom and they need to include you in a video meeting. You don't need to have a Zoom account to simply join a Zoom meeting that someone else is hosting.
